La primera pregunta de la tercera parte del Speaking será una comparación de dos imágenes. A continuación, tendrás que responder a otras dos preguntas sobre el tema de la imagen. Para aprovechar al máximo esos 45 segundos, es importante empezar por lo que ambas imágenes tienen en común, para luego describir cada una de ellas.
Comenzaremos por identificar lo que ambas tienen en común usando la estructura: “In both photos/pictures we can see…”. Si nos fuera imposible encontrar un nexo común, siempre podremos decir: “In both pictures we can see different situations”.
Después, describiremos cada una de ellas centrándonos en las diferencias y uniremos ambas frases con el conector “whereas”, “while” o “on the other hand” (mientras que). Por ejemplo:
“In the first photo we can see two kids studying in a classroom, whereas in the second photo we can see a man reading a book in the library.”
Si después de describir ambas fotos nos sobrara tiempo, podemos hablar de los sentimientos de las personas que aparecen:
“In the first photo they look focused while in the second photo he looks relaxed.”
hacer una suposición:
“I guess they are studying for an exam.”
hablar de las ventajas:
“One of the pros of studying in the library is that it allows you to focus more.”
o incluso de nuestra preferencia personal:
“I would rather study in the library.”
Versión simple: “In both photos we can see people doing sport. In the first photo we can see a person doing sport in the gym, while in the second photo we can see people doing sport outdoors. One of the pros of doing sport is that it allows you to be healthy, spend quality time and improve your skills.”
Versión compleja: “In both photos we can see people doing sport in different places. In the first photo we can see a woman running on a treadmill in a gym, whereas in the second photo we can see a group of people hiking in the countryside. I guess the woman is running because she wants to be fit and, on the other hand, the group of people is hiking because they like nature.”
Versión simple: “In both photos we can see people speaking. In the first photo we can see some people speaking outdoors. I think they are students, while in the second photo we can see people speaking online because we can see a tablet. In the first photo, they look happy, and in the second photo, they look focused.”
Versión compleja: “In both photos we can see people talking to other people. In the first photo we can see some students, maybe after class, hanging out outdoors sitting on the grass, looking happy, whereas in the second photo we can see two businesspeople videocalling, looking focused. One of the pros of videocalling is that it allows you to speak with people who are in a different places.”
Versión simple: “In both photos we can see people eating. In the first photo, we can see a family eating in the kitchen. They look very happy, while in the second photo, we can see a person eating pizza in the living room. He is watching TV. I would rather eat in the living room because I find it better.”
Versión compleja: “In both photos we can see people eating in different parts of the house. In the first photo, we can see a family having lunch together in the kitchen, looking happy, whereas in the second photo, we can see a man having pizza in his living room while watching a football match on TV. Although I can’t see his face I guess he looks happy and excited.”
